Thanksgiving Dinner Box Distribution

People Loving People, in cooperation with Of One Accord Ministries, will be having a Thanksgiving Dinner Box distribution on Saturday, November 18th starting at 10:00am.  Lineup begins at 8:30am behind Cherokee High School in the Football Field Parking Lot.  Cherokee HS is located just off Highway 66 South in Rogersville.  Registration for getting a food box is underway.  Of One Accord will handle the applications for the food boxes and then later the distribution of the food boxes.  Applications will be taken beginning on Monday, October 16th at Emergency Services Food Pantry in Church Hill located in the Church Hill Shopping Center, Suite #2.  Applications will be taken on Mondays and Fridays at that site from 10am till 1pm.  For more information at the Church Hill site, call 423-357-7228.  In Rogersville, at the Of One Accord building (Shephard Center) at 306 East Main Street, applications will be taken at the front desk beginning Monday, October 16th, Monday through Saturday from 10am to 5pm.  For more information at the Rogersville site, call 423-921-8044.  Residents/applicants will fill out a simple application that will be numbered so a count can be maintained at all sites and so the total number of boxes are not over-promised.  One box per household will be the limit as each box is anticipated to feed four people. Applications must be made in person.

Distributions will take place all on Saturday, November 18th.  Lineup will begin at 8:30 am.  Distribution will begin at Cherokee High School at 10:00 am.  Applicants will need to take their number and application tear-off to pick up their meal.  No matter where you register, the Church Hill or Rogersville office, all distributions will take place at this one site, Cherokee High School.  The box will have enough food for a Thanksgiving Dinner for four; a Bible; and some breakfast items for at least one more meal.

Community Service Hours / Volunteering

Monte Emerson who will be coordinating the distribution said “we will need plenty of volunteers to help us with the distribution.  We will need help starting at 8:30am and ending around 1:00pm on Saturday, November 18th, the day of the distribution.  Any and all are welcome to join in – clubs, students, teams, anyone that can offer assistance”.  Please check with your sponsor to see if working/volunteering these hours will count for your community service.
