Family Quick Links

Hawkins County Schools recognizes that when families are engaged in their children's education, the students achieve higher grades, have better attendance and behavior, complete more homework and demonstrate a more positive attitude toward school. We believe that building meaningful and authentic partnerships with our families and communities is the best way to ensure our students' success in school, careers and life.

Internet Safety

The internet can be a wonderful resource for children. Students can use it to research school reports, communicate with teachers and other kids, and play interactive games. Unfortunately, it can also pose hazards to children. The Hawkins County School District provides content filtering to block inappropriate and potentially harmful online resource on school computers.  This filtered online experience is limited to school computers and there are many avenues through, which students may access the internet such as a friend/family computer or a communication device of their own.   Our district provides one or more short lessons each year on the safe use of the internet.  These lessons are grade appropriate and may be viewed by clicking the link at the end of this sentence and selecting your child’s grade level click here.

Parents should be aware of what their children see and hear on the internet, who they meet, and what they share about themselves online. While the links below will not be referenced specifically in a classroom setting, they are being provided for parents, students, and community members to assist Hawkins County Schools in keeping our children safe online.
