Lunch tomorrow will be snack pack instead of what is on the menu.

Bus Changes for Tuesday, August 20th:
Bus 30 and Bus 56 will not run its morning or afternoon routes on Tuesday August 20th. Students will need to be car riders, if they ride these buses.
The Internet and phone systems are currently down at JRP. We will let you know when everything is back up and running.
A transportation information slip is being sent home with your child today. If you need to update any information regarding your student, address, or have any suggestions, please fill out the form and return to the school.
The Hawkins County Board of Education will have a Town Hall Meeting on Friday, August 9, 2024 at 5:30 pm in the gym at Surgoinsville Middle School.
Topic: The New Bus Routing System
Parents, please know that while we realign bus routes and move to our new routing system, we need your help and patience. This has been a three-year process. All student data we had in our student information system during the summer was used to identify routes and assign drivers. However, as you know, the new school year always brings changes to addresses, phone numbers, late enrollees, and drop off and pick up changes. Please remember, all routes are arranged with priority placed on student safety and route efficiency. Per Board Policy 3.401, “students living within three-tenths (.3) of a mile to an established bus route will be required to walk to said route.” Please call the transportation department with any concerns, questions, or to updates to any student information, especially any address or contact information changes. Our transportation department number is 423-272-7629, ext. 2501 and 2502. Bearcub Families! Monday, August 5th is our FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL! Just a reminder: doors open at 7:15, tardy is 7:45, and we will have EARLY DISMISSAL starting at 11:30. We cannot wait to see you on Monday Morning!

Reminder: Today is Election Day and our School is a Polling Place. We have reserved some parking spots for Voters to use this afternoon. Please make sure as you come to the Back to School Bash to leave those spots free for voters.

Our new teachers were treated to a delicious Bull Babies breakfast (courtesy of HCEA/Quinn Kersey) to get the New Teacher Orientation started off right. The day was filled with exemplary teachers sharing a wealth of information to help our newest teachers have a successful year. HCS is blessed with the best!
