Weekly attendance challenge. How it works: attendance will be calculated each week. The homeroom with the best attendance in each grade level will win the grade level attendance trophy for the following week dash along with bragging rights! The wedding teacher will also receive a special incentive as a thank you for helping students show up and show out! Let's build excitement around coming to school every day!
Kindergarten will join us next week during afternoon dismissal. Please see the attached flyer for important information about dismissal.

Car rider dismissal: beginning next week, our kindergarten students will be attending for the full day. We expect afternoon dismissal to take longer than normal due to the number of carriers we have across the school. If you have a student at another school, we are suggesting that you pick them up before you pick up your JRP student. We also want to remind you that anyone without a car tag should not enter the car line. They will need to park inside the student out in the office.
We will help our kindergarten and pre-K students learn their colors. If you are able, wear the color for the day that is listed on the chart!

For 2025-26, Hawkins County Schools will focus on positive attendance and its impact on student success, now and in the future. We want to partner with you to ensure your child is in school, learning what they need to thrive as adults. Chronically Absent is 10% or more days per school year (excused or unexcused). At 5 or more unexcused absences a meeting with school staff will be scheduled. Students have 5 days to turn in parent and doctor notes. Each student may have 6 parent notes and 10 doctor notes per year. Students with 10 unexcused absences in a row or a total of 15 unexcused absences will lose their driving privileges.
