Assessment and Accountability
Welcome to the Hawkins County Department of Education Assessment Website. We are committed to providing all of our students with the education they need to succeed. Accordingly, we must accurately measure our students’ progress and the performance of our educators. We utilize testing and assessment data to improve our teaching methods and better prepare our students to perform well academically. Student learning is measured throughout the year by a variety of formative and summative assessments. School administrators and teachers then use this information to plan and to provide interventions, remediation, and enrichment opportunities for students. In addition, The Tennessee Department of Education mandates yearly assessments to measure students academic achievement and growth. Many of our schools host frequent events to build student confidence and review relevant materials in a fun and engaging manner. To find out what your child's school is doing to help them prepare for assessments, ask their teacher, check the school’s website, or call the school's main office.
