School activity/Organization/Sponsor: I take an interest in all of the activities in which my students participate and try to attend as many events as possible. I would like to see us have a chess club to help students develop their higher order skills while learning to think strategically.

Why did you choose to become a teacher? So many people said that I would be a good one. I like to learn, and I like to help people learn, especially those who thought they could not.

What is the most challenging part about teaching? Motivating the students to learn will alwayspresent its share of challenges. The varietyof learning styles in the classroom dictate a fluid and flexible lesson plan every day.

As a teacher, what are the most important qualities that a student should possess to achieve success? Confidence and determination.

Your advice to the upcoming freshman: Always remember to look at the big picture.

What class or classes do you teach and what will the class be studying and learning?
This year I am teaching Honors Biology and Physical Science.

How much and what kinds of homework can your students expect? I would like to say that I am not a big proponent of homework-I would like to say that...However, homework offers values on a number of fronts: students have an opportunity to put into practise some of the concepts taught in class as well as demonstrate their knowledge of the materials.

Special projects that will be completed throughout semester: I really like for the students to help determine what projects they want to work on throughout the semester-I think their having ownership of that decision makes the work enjoyable.

What is the best way for your students to communicate with you? I am here and available as needed throughout the school week. Students are welcome to contact me via phone or email whenever necessary.

Do you offer tutoring? I can be here whenever the students need me. I am always willing to help in any way I can.

Other comments: There is no greater importance in all the world like knowing you are right and that the wave of the world is wrong, yet the wave crashes upon you.-Norman Mailer
