About Me

I have taught in Hawkins County Schools for many years.  I received my bachelors degree from ETSU.  I received my Master's Degree from Tusculum.  Hawkins county is my home.  I was born and raised in Surgoinsville.  I'm teaching in the same classroom that I was in when I was in second grade.  I love my hometown and our school.

Homework is useful in reinforcing skills and materials learned in class. It prepares students for upcoming topics, teaches responsibility, and helps develop positive study skills.

Please check your child's planner each night and sign.  Please write messages in planner if needed.  We go over homework and I check planners each day.

Please be sure your child reads to you each night.  Reading becomes easier with practice.

Read each night at least 15 minutes.  Practice helps to improve reading.

Science Fair-spring-Third grade students may participate by doing a science project.  It needs to be an experiment.  The judges will ask students questions about their experiment.  This is not required but strongly encouraged.  Students  may want to take pictures of each step and arrange them on poster board.  They will most likely be asked to explain their experiment and how it works.
