Meet Mrs. Ivey

My name is Amy Ivey and this is my tenth year teaching here at Bulls Gap School.  Before making the move to fourth and fifth grades English, I taught third grade for two years and seventh grade language arts for five years.  I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, TN and my Master of Education degree from Cumberland University in Lebanon, TN.  I recently finished working on my Educational Specialist degree from Lincoln Memorial University.  I will walk the stage to receive my diploma in December.  The only thing left would be a Doctorate degree, but I don't plan to pursue that.

I am proud to say that I am married to a wonderful man, Ray.  This past summer we celebrated our tenthwedding anniversary.  We would love to have children of our own; however, we have not been blessed in that way yet.  Instead we have four dogs which we love dearly and affectionately refer to as our "furry babies."  Rastus is our only male.  He is a nearly 7 year old boxer mix and is the most gentle and loving of the bunch.  Molly is our oldest female and she is nearly seven years old as well.  She is a border collie mix.  We call her a diva because she truly believes she is just a hairy little girl.  We rescued both Molly and Rastus from the Hawkins County Humane Society.  Finally, our babies are our two Jack Russell "Terrors" who are just over a three years old.  Their names are Chloe and Daisy.  They are certainly lively but we can't help but love them anyway.

As a teacher I am living my dream.  I am honored to be a part of your child’s life.  I hold the belief that every child can succeed, and I intend to work hard to help your child reach his or her full potential in every aspect of his or her life—academically, emotionally, physically, and socially.

I hope you have found something on this site that you find useful.  If you have any suggestions, questions, or comments, please let me know.

God Bless,

Amy Ivey
