The school day:
The school day begins at 7:50am and ends at 3:00pm. Everyone arriving before 7:50 should report to the cafeteria or the gym. Any student arriving after 8:00 will be required to sign-in in the office before reporting to class.
Car-riders will be dismissed at the front door beginning at 2:50. Bus-riders are dismissed at 3:00. Anyone leaving before 2:50 will be required to sign-out in the office.
School Visitors:
All adults visiting the school must sign-in at the office and receive a visitor pass. This is for all adults coming into the school before, during or after regular school hours. We as a staff are working on keeping all of our students as safe as possible. Thank you for you cooperation.
Four Blocks:
Four Blocks is a new strategy for teaching reading. In this program students are taught phonics during the "Working with Words" block. They are taught grammar and writing during the "Writing" block. Students focus on comprehension skills during the "Guided Reading" block. Students are encouraged to read books of their own choosing during the "Self-selected Reading Block". Combining these four blocks give students more time and activities to improve their reading skills. At Mooresburg Elementary, the Four Blocks Reading Method is used in grades 1-3.
