Veterans Day

| Rebecca, a third grade student, led the student assembly in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of the United States. Mr. Bellamy reminded students that our freedom in America has come a cost of tremendous casualties during the wars of World War 1, World War 2, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and other conflicts. Ms. Price gave a description of the rigid requirements for the soldiers who guard the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers. For information about the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers, click HERE. A Veterans Day Powerpoint presentation was prepared by Ms. Price and shown to the school assembly. Hawkins Elementary students, staff and faculty say THANKS to Mr. Leroy Klepper who attended our Veterans Day program and to all veterans and active service women and men. |
