• Schools you are an alumnus of: Transylvania University, University of Tenn., Knoxville

• Grade and Subject you teach:  5th grade; Reading, Social Studies, Science & Spelling

• Someone who has inspired or encouraged you in your role as an educator:  Georgeanne Price, my third-grade reading teacher, made reading fun. At that point in time, I didn't enjoy reading.  She would take the time to read to us everyday and find ways to encourage us in the classroom.  Today, she still supports me and lends a helping hand when needed.    

• Hobbies/Interests: I love spending time with my family and friends.  I love to travel.  My most recent trip was to New York City where I was able to shop and go to a couple of Broadway shows.

• Name someone you would like to meet: As a child, I wanted to meet Julie Andrews because I loved Mary Poppins and The Sound of Music.  I would still love to meet her, but I would also like to meet Laura Bush because I want to know what it's like being the First Lady.

• Favorite book(s) and/or author(s): Judy Blume, Beverly Cleary, Jerry Spinelli

• Advice to students: Treat others as you want to be treated.  Please be respectful of each other's feeling.
