         Compact Between Home and School

The Hawkins County Schools' mission, in partnership with all stakeholders, is to "Educate and Graduate Each Student."
Hawkins County Schools' staff wishes to work with you, your child, and family in building a partnership to help your child achieve the state's high standards of education.  We believe that high student performance is a shared responsibility for parents, school staff, and students.

We invite and encourage you to attend at least one parent-teacher conference.  Your child's school will share regular progress reports for your child.  We encourage you to visit, volunteer and participate in all school events.

We will work together for the success of  (student's name) in his/her school experience.

As a parent, on behalf of my child, I will:

  • Encourage punctual and regular school attendance;
  • Support my child's learning at home;
  • Provide my child with support, love, and understanding;
  • Monitor television viewing at home;
  • Represent my child, when possible, at school functions;
  • Participate, as appropriate, in decisions relating to thee education of my child;
  • Communicate with my child's teacher and track student progress;
  • Support the school in its effort to maintain proper discipline and to encourage self-control and self-motivation; and
  • Positively support the teacher and the school.
