Arts Festival 2008 |

The 2008 Arts Festival Theme was "Art in Nature." Artists have always been inspired by nature for many of their creative endeavors. Patterns, shapes, colors, etc. are found in nature and these elements help to identify and classify nature in its many forms. Some of our Festival titles were: Sky (collage), Leaf Creatures (print and collage), Fish (prints), Self Portraits (scratch art), Bugs, Bromeliad (temperas). We hope everyone enjoyed the music and art with us. (J. Flynn) |

The Bearcats Chorus performed a variety of music for the Arts Festival during morning and afternoon performances: "Clap Your Hands," a selection of classical children's literature, "Don't Get Around Much Anymore," a jazz selection; and "Listen to the Rain," a selection that sounded like a thunderstorm and included audience participation. The HES choir also did selections from "High School Musical 2." Allison from 4th Grade sang the National Anthem, The Star-Spangled Banner, and Hannah from 5th grade performed an original violin solo, "Springtime Blossom," which Hannah composed (accompanied by Karen Price on the guitar). Three students, Madison, Conner, and River recited poetry to the audience. Thanks to everyone who came to see the students perform and to view the artwork. (J. Greene-Beatty) |

Mr. Bellamy would like to thank the students and Ms. Flynn, Ms. Greene-Beatty, and Ms. Price for all their hard work, and Mr. Bellamy sends a special thanks to all the parents and grandparents who came to the festival! |
