      Remembering 9.11

After Mr. Bellamy reviewed the historic events of September 11, 2001 with HES students, Rebecca narrated an original poem,  September 11,  Rebecca wrote this poem last year in remembrance of that eventful day in United States history.   Following Rebecca's reading of her poem, Allison sang the United States of America's National Anthem, The Star Spangled Banner.  To read about Fort McHenry, the birthplace of the National Anthem, click HERE.  Following the Pledge of Allegiance, which was led Mr. Bellamy, a moment of silence was observed by students, faculty and staff.
Thanks Rebecca and Allison for contributing to this program!
Rebecca's original poem is posted below the pictures.

Remember the day when many died.

Some were scared, and others cried.

The buildings crashed; it was all over the news.

We were sad; we had the blues.

A little girl said, "Is my mom okay?"

This might just be our very worst day.

She lost her mom, she's only seven.

She will never forget the day of Nine Eleven.
