3rd grade Reading Lesson

 Students in Mrs. Begley's 3rd grade class enjoyed making colonial hornbooks after reading and discussing the nonfiction story, Growing Up in Colonial Times by Linda Lott and the historical fiction selection, William's House by Ginger Howard.  Ms. Lott explained that "A hornbook wasn't even a book.  It just a piece of wood.  There was a printed page on the front of the wood."
