"A Season of Joy" was performed at Hawkins Elementary on December 9, 2008 by Hawkins Elementary School's 5th grade students and the Bearcat Choir.  Directed by HES music teacher, Nathan Williamson, this Christmas program was dedicated to the memory of Ms. Jo Anne Greene-Beatty, Hawkins Elementary School's music teacher for the past eleven years and founder of the Hawkins Elementary Bearcat Choir .  Following the Introduction and Welcoming by Mr. Bellamy and K. Price, River read an original poem dedicated to Ms. Greene-Beatty. Hawkins Elementary Staff and students wish to express our appreciation to Ms. Greene-Beatty's mother and sister for attending this special program.   (A memorial page for Ms. Greene-Beatty, which will include the poem and tributes, is under construction.)

Musical selections performed by 5th grade students included: "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day," "A Perfect Winter Day," "Yankee Doodle Santa,"  and "Here We Come A-Caroling." A special thanks go to 5th grade soloists: Haley, Allison, and Kourtney.  The musical selection, "Peace on Earth" performed by the 5th grade students, was accompanied by Sign Language which was performed by Miranda, Madison, Rebecca and Kendyl.  The Bearcat Chorus performed these selections: "Merry Christmas Bells" and "Sing We Now of Christmas."  Thanks to all the parents, grandparents and family members who came to the program!

An Extra Special Thanks to guest performers Ambria, Jessica and Brad for performing " O Beautiful Star of Bethlehem" and to Ambria for performing "O Holy Night,"  accompanied by Brad on guitar.  The annual Christmas Program was concluded with a Sing-Along conducted by Mr. Williamson.  Last, but not least, a huge thanks to Eddie and Christin for their special rolls! 5th grade teachers, thanks for your help with this program.

Mr. Williamson, thanks for all your hard work and thanks to Hawkins Elementary School's sound tech, Karen Price.
