School Wide Positive Behavior Support Expectations at Clinch School

Overall School Rules are:

Be Respectful.
Be Responsible.
Be Ready.

   Arrival/Dismissal

   Be Respectful

• Enter and exit building quietly.
• Use indoor voices.
• Remove headgear (hats, caps, hoodies, scarves, etc.) upon entering the building.
• Follow all directions from supervising adult.

   Be Responsible

• Use the office door entrance to enter the building.
• Walk in and report to assigned area:

Eat upon arrival – cafeteria
            K-7 students go to – auditorium
            8-12 students go to  – gym

• Arrive and depart in an orderly fashion by walking.
• Keep hands and feet to yourself.

   Be Ready

• Be in assigned area until the bell rings at 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
• Know your bus number. Have a signed and dated note if riding another bus.

  
   Assembly

   Be Respectful

• Give speaker full attention.
• Be quiet while speaker is presenting.

   Be Responsible

• Keep hands and feet to self.
• Follow directions given.

   Be Ready

• Enter and exit auditorium or gym quietly.
• Sit in your class’s assigned area.

   Bathroom

   Be Respectful

• Flush
• Be mindful of other people’s privacy.
• Use school and personal property appropriately.
• Open the stalls only when they are empty.
• Wait your turn quietly.

   Be Responsible

• Use toilet, urinal, and sink as intended.
• Wash hands after using the bathroom.
• Throw away paper towels and trash in the trash can.

   Be Ready

• Go directly to and from the bathroom.
• Have hall pass if going during class time.
• Be quick.

   Bus

   Be Respectful

• Use your inside voice.

·        Place litter in trash can.

·        Treat bus and other public property as it was intended to be used.

·        Use appropriate, non-offensive language and gestures.

·        Obey all instructions given by the driver.

   Be Responsible

• Stay in assigned seat or area.
• Notify driver of problems.
• Keep all body parts inside the bus. (head, hands, etc.)

   Be Ready

• Know bus rules.
• Be on time.
• Know your bus number and stop.
• Have belongings ready to exit the bus.

   Cafeteria

   Be Respectful

• Be considerate of others’ space – keep hands and feet to self.
• Use inside voice.
• Use good table manners.
• Clean your area and put all trash in trash can.

   Be Responsible

• Raise hand when assistance is needed.
• Follow direction given by adults on duty.
• Sit in assigned area.

   Be Ready

• Stand and wait in a line.
• Get all items needed before sitting down.

   Hallway/Auditorium

   Be Respectful

• Leave room for others to walk down the hallway.
• Talk in a whisper.
• Walk at all times.
• Respect artwork, posters, etc. on walls and lockers.

   Be Responsible

• Avoid public displays of affection.
• Be quiet and use lockers quietly.
• Keep hands and feet to self.

   Be Ready

• Have hall pass visible.
• Walk slowly and quietly.

   Gym

   Be Respectful

• Demonstrate good sportsmanship.
• Use equipment appropriately.
• Learn and follow instructions.
• Keep hands and feet to yourself.

   Be Responsible

• Put equipment away when finished.
• Share equipment and take turns.
• Walk on bleachers.
• Play safe - watch out for other

   Be Ready

·        Stop and listen when you hear the whistle or intercom.
·        Know expectations of activity.
·        Wear tennis shoes when on the gym floor.
·        Leave food or drinks outside – except water.

   Computer Lab

   Be Respectful

• Leave computer station as you found it.
• Use inside voices.

   Be Responsible

• Keep lab clean.
• Deposit all food and drinks in trash upon entering.
• Use all equipment properly.
• Return all materials to their proper place after use (head phones. Chairs. Etc.)

   Be Ready

• Arrive on time.
• Bring needed materials to class.

   Library

   Be Respectful

• Enter and exit quietly.
• Use inside voices.
• Keep hands and feet to self.

   Be Responsible

• Listen and follow directions from teacher.
• Use books and materials with care.

   Be Ready

• Return books and materials on time.
• Deposit all food and drinks in trash upon entering.

   Playground

   Be Respectful

• Take turns.
• Be kind to others – use kind words.
• Keep hands and feet to yourself.

   Be Responsible

• Play safely.
• Use equipment appropriately.

   Be Ready

• Listen for signal and line up.
• Enter building quietly.

   Parking Lot

   Be Respectful

• Refrain from touching other vehicles.
• Place trash in trash can.

   Be Responsible

• Obey all traffic laws.
• Watch for moving vehicles.
• Depart with flow of traffic.

   Be Ready

• Bring all materials from parking area.
• Obtain permission from the office if you have to return to the parking lot.
• Park in student area.
• Enter building upon arrival.
