What is SWPBS?

Church Hill Middle School has implemented a School-Wide Positive Behavior Support Program (SWPBS).  This program defines, teaches, and reinforces appropriate student behavior to create a positive school environment.

With the SWPBS program, students will be able to earn Panther Paws for various positive behaviors.  Students who have perfect attendance, on the honor roll, earn Student of the Week or Character Counts will earn one Panther Paw for each six weeks.  Teachers, faculty, and staff also have Panther Paws that they will reward students with when they "Catch the Student Playing by the Rules."' This means when the student was observed behaving in a positive manner.

There is an SWPBS Events Committee that is working on having a reward party at the end of each six weeks and a big reward celebration a the end of the school year.  This SWPBS Reward Committee is also in the process of contacting local businesses for charitable contributions.   These contributions will be used for prizes to be given away at the End of the Year Celebration.

Students who have earned a Panther Paw will have the privilege to attend the reward parties and can accumulate their Panther Paws to Paws to spend at the End of the Celebration.  Each Panther Paw will be equivalent to approximately $1.00.  If you have any questions or are interested in contributing to the SWPBS program, please contact the school at 357-3051.
