Adult Basic Education an Investment in Tennessee

All ABE programs are free of charge and are geared to the individual needs of adult learners. Through ABE programs adults can:

  • Gain the speaking, listening, reading, writing and math skills required for job advancement.

  • Gain the necessary skills to meet the entrance requirements for vocational or other educational training programs.

  • More than four in five GED graduates(85%) surveyed planned to enroll in post secondary educational programs.
  • Passing the GED on average, signifies the attainment of a level of literacy widely viewed as neccessary for social and economic advancement.
