HOMEWORK HELP AND DIRECTIONS:

ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS

Language Notebook:

Dividers:

Dividers should be labeled in an one inch three-ring-binder.  They should be in this order:

1. Journal

Journal prompts will be placed in order by date.  Check on the journal link for more information.

2. Grade Chart

Students will be given a grade chart.  Students are to record the grades they receive.

3. Class Rules

These will be given out by the teacher.

4. Assignments

These are current assignments that need to be turned in.

5. Graded Assignments

These are assignments that have been corrected. They are awaiting the homework quiz on Friday.  These assignments should also be used as a study tool for test.

6. Charts and Notes

These will be grammar notes and rules we record in class.

GRADE CHART:

Students should record their grades on their grade chart.  This allows them to see their own progress.  It can also be a useful tool for you to check on your child's work on a weekly basis.

CHARTS AND GRAMMAR RULES:

Students will be given resources to keep in their folders to help them study.  It is very important for students to keep these resources in their folders.

"ME" POSTER DIRECTIONS:

1. Students will need to place a small picture or snapshot of themselves in the center of the poster.

2. At least 15 objects should be placed on the poster.  These items should reflect each student's likes, hobbies and other things that mean a great deal to them.  They may cut out pictures and glue them to the poster or draw them.  Please do not place valuable items on the poster.

3. Students should place their names on the top of the poster in the center.  They may print or write in cursive.  It should be in large print (enough to see a short distance away).

4. Students can decorate their posters anyway they choose.  They may use glitter, markers, crayons, etc. to create their posters.

5. Please use the paper provided. If students need another sheet they can get them in class.

This should be a fun project.  I want students to enjoy themselves with this project and make it truly their own
