~~ All about Me ~~

My husband, Bill, and I have been married for 20 years and have three beautiful children. We also have four cats and a pony. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, writing, walking, and spending time with my husband and children.

I earned my first college degree from Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia. Upon graduation I worked as an office manager in a women's clothing store for several years. At the encouragement of one of my high school teachers, I also began tutoring middle and high school math students. After my children were born, I took a job teaching music at a preschool and loved it. As my children entered school, I went back to college and earned a Masters of Arts in Teaching from East Tennessee State University. Upon completion of that degree, I worked for a semester as a special education instructional assistant at Sevier Middle School and was hired the next fall at Volunteer High School as a math teacher. Last summer, I completed an Education Specialist degree in Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University. I am certified and highly qualified in all subject areas K-8 and math K-12, and now I am certified to be an administrator.

This is my 5th year teaching math at Volunteer High School. I have taught Algebra 1, Geometry, and Technical Geometry. This is my 4th year as sponsor of Mu Alpha Theta (the math club) at Volunteer.
