About Me

Hello!

My name is Conalita Reeves and I teach Kindergarten at Keplar Elementary. I am 34 years old and have been married to my husband, Robert Reeves Jr. for 9 years. We currently live here in Rogersville but are in the process of building a house in my hometown of Surgoinsville. We have 2 little adorable sons, Nikolas who is 3 and Dakota who is 2. We have two cats and the neighbors dog (it adopted us).

 Mission For The Class
My goal is to prepare my students to the best of his/her ability for the future in a positive, child friendly environment.

Recite the alphabet.

Recognize the alphabet and the sounds each letter makes.

Count to 100 and recognize the numbers 1 - 20.

Read sight words each night and reading story.

We will be learning a lot of new things in Kindergarten.  A lot of what we learn will be done with hands on materials.  Be sure to have your child at school every day and please be on time.  When your child is late or has to be out  he/she misses a lot of skills. Remember when everyone is at school and we have no early dismissals or tardies we earn a piece of pizza.  When we have the whole pizza we get a pizza party. Other grades have already have had pizza parties.  Kindergarten is still building our first pizza.  PLEASE!Come to school on time and be here all day!!

What do I need to work on with my child for the school year?  Every child needs to work on reciting the alphabet (do not sing it), recognizing the letters and the sounds they make, counting to 50 and recognizing the numbers to 20.

Who is the teaching assistant and what are her goals in the classroom?   Our assistant is Mrs. Kathy West. She is an asset to our room.  She is there to help EVERY student.  She assists during reading centers by keeping the children on task or by working with individual students or groups of students that need extra help.  She also helps us in handwriting by helping to show us how to correctly write letters, which proceeds to words, and by the end of the year to sentences. Mrs. Kathy is loved so much, we share her with other grades.  Thank you Mrs. Kathy!!!
