Hawkins County Schools’ Transportation Department will be offering Commercial Driver’s License training free of charge starting June 1, 2016 for anyone interested in getting their School Bus Driver’s License.  

The class will include training to prepare for the required written tests as well as training for the pre-trip inspection and road and control skills test.

Dr. Reba Bailey, who is federal programs and testing supervisor, was selected supervisor of the year from the First Tennessee District. Bailey will compete against supervisors of the year from the other eight regions across the state for Tennessee supervisor of the year.

Susan Trent, Principal at Surgoinsville Elem. School, has been named principal of the year for  the Area Council 2 which includes the cities and counties of Hawkins, Hancock, Greene, Cocke, and Hamblen.

The Hawkins County Board of Education will have a Budget Workshop on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at 6 p.m. at the Charles A. Fuller Board Room/Training Center.
