Parenting Education

Parenting classes are offered at the Family Resource Center on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Space is limited and registration is required.

Classes include:

1. Parenting Under Stress - it is a hands-on, interactive program designed to provide support and education to mothers and fathers who are experiencing special life stresses that affect their parenting. Parenting Under Stress is a four-week program consisting of two, 90 minute sessions each week.

2. Teen Parenting - Adolescence and parenting are two challenging life events. When these two are combined, the challenges are magnified. Any teen parent in the Hawkins County School system can receive services from the Family Resource Center. These services include prenatal and postnatal education, as well as linkage to community resources for various needs.

2. Parenting Skills

3. Anger Management

4. Helping Your Child Succeed in School

5. Preparing Your Child for Kindergarten

6. Middle School Success

7. Preparing Your Child for High School
